Randall (Randy) Jones<\/strong> is an author, publisher, and media executive who has spent 30 years in the publishing, TV, Internet, film and media businesses.  He is the founder of <em>Worth,<\/em> the financial lifestyle magazine for active, wealthy investors.  Mr. Jones launched <em>Worth<\/em> in February of 1992 and was the guiding force behind its growth to 500,000 circulation in just three years.  Mr. Jones\u2019 success with <em>Worth<\/em> landed him on <em>Adweek\u2019<\/em>s \u201cStrongest Performers\u201d list and <em>Folio<\/em>\u2019s \u201c40 Under 40 Achievers\u201d list.  Often regarded as an industry maverick, he became the youngest publisher of a major magazine in history when, at age 29, he took the helm of <em>Esquire<\/em> magazine (later sold to the Hearst Corporation).<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-235\" title=\"gspoat_cover4\" src=\"http:\/\/www.richestmanintown.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/01\/gspoat_cover4-204x300.jpg\" alt=\"gspoat_cover4\" width=\"143\" height=\"211\" \/>A serial entrepreneur, Mr. Jones spearheaded the launch of <em>The <\/em><em>American Benefactor<\/em>\u2014the first magazine about philanthropy from the donor\u2019s perspective\u2014and he bought <em>Civilization:<\/em> <em>The Magazine of the Library of Congress,<\/em> which he later sold to the <em>Atlantic Monthly.<\/em> Random House published his first book, <em>The Greatest Stock Picks of All Time,<\/em> in 2004.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Jones serves as Chairman and CEO of American Idea Lab, a media ideation and investment firm.  He sits on the boards of Wilmington Trust New York, Trinity Capital Services, Yureekah Technologies, and American Idea Lab.  In addition, Jones is a member of the Young Presidents Organization (YPO), the Creative Coalition, and the Committee to Encourage Corporate Philanthropy.  To satiate his passion for economic education, Mr. Jones has served as a board member of the National Council for Economic Education. The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of America recently honored him as \u201cPhilanthropist of the Year.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He has served as the voice of the ABC Radio program \u201cA Minute\u2019s Worth,\u201d syndicated daily to 4,600 ABC radio affiliates, and is a frequent public speaker on the interests, lifestyles, investment habits, and success formulas of America\u2019s wealthy.  In addition, Jones is a frequent commentator on numerous television shows, including  <em>Today,<\/em> CNBC, CNN, CNN\u2013FN, and Fox News.<\/p>\n<p>A graduate of the University of Georgia School of Journalism in 1977, Mr. Jones was honored to receive the school\u2019s John E. Drewry Award as the outstanding alumnus of the year, and in 2002 he was awarded the Alumni Merit Award\u2014the highest honor awarded to alumni of the University of Georgia.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Jones calls both Carrollton, Georgia and New York City home.
